2020 Celebrate Iowa Gala goes virtual with a video tour of Donna Reed Center
COVID-19 has forced the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs to make changes to their annual fundraising Celebrate Iowa Gala. This year’s Gala on Friday, December 11, 2020, will be a virtual statewide celebration of Iowa arts, history, film, and culture. It will feature special guests, musical performances, and a mix of virtual only-in-Iowa experiences.
One of the only-in-Iowa experiences will be a video tour of the Donna Reed Center for the Performing Arts in Denison, Ia. A production crew visited the center in late October to conduct interviews and tour the Center. We haven't seen the final video but in addition to the museum, their exploration included the movie projection room, stage, auditorium, and the seldom-seen archives.
