Donna and the reporter

Chicago Deadline released November 3, 1949 (USA).

Chicago Deadline is a 1949 American film noir crime film about a reporter for a Chicago newspaper starring Alan Ladd and Donna Reed. It was remade as Fame Is the Name of the Game (1966).

Donna Reed had just appeared opposite Ladd in Beyond Glory. She was borrowed from MGM again to play his co-star. A Variety review said, "she gives an appealing performance."
