Donna elected campus queen

December 1, 1940 - Donna Reed elected Campus Queen of Los Angeles City College.

Donna Reed graduated from high school in Iowa and then moved to California to attend Los Angeles City College. She was named campus queen while there and rode on the city's float in the Rose Parade. The resultant newspaper photographs brought her to the attention of movie talent scouts and she signed with MGM after completing her schooling.
