
Donna Reed Scholar premiers ballet.
Nashville Ballet’s Attitude program recently premiered a ballet by renowned choreographer Jermaine Maurice Spivey. It was part of their 2024 Black History Month, “African Americans and the Arts.”
Spivey is an award-winning dancer, educator, and choreographer who has worked with acclaimed Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite. He has studied at Juilliard, danced extensively in Europe, and staged works around the world. He is an Artist in Residence faculty of the University of Southern California's Kaufman School of Dance.
Spivey was a 1998 Donna Reed Scholarship Award Recipient in Dance.
