Donna's fourth film


January 30, 1942 - MGM releases The Bugle Sounds (New York City).

The Bugle Sounds is a World War II film from 1942 featuring Wallace Beery as a cavalry sergeant who opposes the transition from horses to tanks. The supporting cast features Marjorie Main, Lewis Stone, George Bancroft, Donna Reed, and Chill Wills. The movie first premiered on January 14, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky.


This marked Donna Reed's fourth movie appearance. Variety described the film as "packed with sound patriotic fervor, thrills, and comedy ... heightened by excellent performances by the stars and balance of the cast."
