Catch up with Preston Truman Boyd, a 2004 Donna Reed Scholarship Recipient in Vocal Music and Musical Theatre.
In 2004, Preston Truman Boyd, a high school senior from Moorhead, MN, and a National Merit Scholar participated in the scholarship competition at the Donna Reed Festival Workshops in Denison, IA, and won scholarships in both vocal music and musical theatre.
Preston recently concluded a two-year stint as Inspector Javert in the National Tour of Les Misérables. He has now been cast in a reimagined Broadway adaptation of The Pirates of Penzance, featuring a jazz-infused New Orleans style.
In 2022, having weathered the pandemic, Preston Truman Boyd and Nick Cartell sat down to discuss what bringing the production back to audiences across the country meant to them. The staging marked a return for both Boyd and Cartell to the tour, reprising the roles of Inspector Javert and Jean Valjean, respectively.
