Mark Slade as Billy Blue Cannon

Mark Slade (born May 1, 1939).

Mark Slade is an American actor, author, and artist. In a career spanning 30 years, he made over 300 appearances on stage, screen, and television, winning international recognition and awards. In a career spanning 30 years, he appeared in the film The Wackiest Ship in the Army (1960) and the TV series, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964-1968). But he is best remembered for his role as Billy Blue Cannon in the western series, The High Chaparral (1967).


In 1965, Slade portrayed Bill Dayton on The Donna Reed Show in "The Big League Shock” (Season 8, Episode 10).
