Stu Phillips, composer

Stuart Phillips - born September 9, 1929


Stu Phillips is an American composer of film scores and television-series theme music, conductor and record producer. He is perhaps best known for composing the theme tune to the television series Battlestar Galactica and Knight Rider.


He also founded Colpix Records and produced "Johnny Angel" for Shelly Fabares, who played the teenage daughter on The Donna Reed Show. It became a popular hit single and she took it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart when the song was released in 1962.
